2022 Celebration, Featuring Senior Health Care, a Success!
Cherry Health Foundation’s annual Celebration returned to an in-person experience on November 2 as guests came together to support accessible, high-quality health care for everyone. With live Motown music energizing the crowd, the reception quickly became a lively reunion as guests enjoyed gathering face-to-face after the virtual events of the past few years. The program featured inspiring stories that highlighted the pathway to wellness of senior patients.
Sponsors and donors demonstrated their commitment to the lifeline that Cherry Health provides by contributing over $200,000 to ensure the continuation of vital programs and services.
In her message, Tasha Blackmon, President & CEO, announced that Cherry Health will be moving toward expanded services for seniors in the coming year. A portion of Cherry Health's flagship site, Heart of the City Health Center, will be transforming into a program devoted to supporting older patients, with the goal of helping them to live longer, healthier, and more independent lives as they age. This specialized clinic will offer medical care, prescription assistance, behavioral health, and other services in an environment designed for adults age 60 and over. “The organization is laser focused on digital transformation across all programs, which will include integrating more technology and innovation into senior care,” she added.
Last year, Cherry Health provided services to more than 67,000 patients across 6 counties in Michigan. Its patient care outcomes rank among the top 20% nationally, and it is the state's largest Federally Qualified Health Center. Celebration is Cherry Health Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, and provides support for essential yet unreimbursed services, infrastructure and facilities improvements, and innovative solutions to bridge health care gaps and improve outcomes.
