Overview
Every day, our board-certified doctors, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners care for patients with a wide range of backgrounds and health concerns. We can help you with your routine care needs, treat unexpected health issues like a skin rash or cough, or help you manage chronic diseases like diabetes or heart disease. We can also connect you with a specialist if needed.
Cherry Health takes a patient-focused approach to your health care. We use the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model to provide high-quality primary care and enhanced access to behavioral health, dental, vision and pharmacy services. We want to be the first place you think of for all your health care needs.
Your medical home is a place you feel comfortable and confident – both in the relationship with your primary care provider and the quality of care you receive. Together, you and your provider will focus on treating your medical conditions and preventing problems from occurring in the future. From your first visit, we’ll work to understand your unique needs and preferences and set you on a path to better health.
If you are a new patient and would like to make an appointment, please call 616.965.8308 or email newpatient@cherryhealth.com.

Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). The virus is spread through contact with blood from an infected person. Most people become infected by sharing needles or other equipment used to prepare and inject drugs. For some people, hepatitis C is a short-term illness, but for more than half of people who become infected, it becomes a long-term, chronic infection. Chronic hepatitis C can lead to serious health problems like cirrhosis and liver cancer. People with chronic hepatitis C can have no symptoms. When symptoms appear, they often are a sign of advanced liver disease. The best way to prevent hepatitis C is by avoiding behaviors that can spread the disease, especially injecting drugs. If detected early enough (within 8-12 weeks), most hepatitis C infections can be cured with oral medications, so getting tested is important. Hepatitis C is diagnosed through a blood test. If the virus is detected, we’ll use additional testing to assess any liver damage. Cherry Health strives to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to anyone seeking testing or treatment for hepatitis C. We use on-site primary care, behavioral health consultants, an HCV treatment coordinator, and a 340B-contracted specialty pharmacy to optimize the patient experience. Interested in learning more? HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. If left untreated, HIV can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Most people who are HIV-positive do not have AIDS, but if left untreated, many cases develop into AIDS. Anyone of any age, race, sex, or sexual orientation can be infected with HIV/AIDS. However, you’re at greatest risk of HIV/AIDS if you:
- Have unprotected sex, especially if you have multiple partners. Use a new latex or polyurethane condom every time you have sex.
- Have a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Many STIs produce open sores, which act as doorways for HIV to enter your body.
- Use intravenous drugs. People who use these drugs often share needles and syringes, which can expose them to droplets of other people’s blood.
If you are concerned about contracting HIV, Cherry Health can help. We can prescribe PrEP, an FDA-approved medication you can take regularly to prevent HIV. Interested in learning more? Contact IDed@cherryhealth.com.
