Tim Leonard, LMSW
Becoming a provider with Cherry Health this past year has been a meaningful experience that strongly connects with my personal and professional values. I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to individuals who are seeking support and services for themselves. I am grateful for the opportunity to do this work at Cherry Health and remain continually motivated and inspired by the individuals and families I have the privilege of working with. Their strength, resilience, and willingness to pursue positive change continue to reinforce my commitment to this work.
Education, Training, and Certifications
My professional education began with graduating from Spring Arbor College in 1995, followed by completing my Master of Social Work degree at Grand Valley State University in 2000. I remain committed to ongoing professional development and continue to participate in training opportunities that expand my knowledge and strengthen my clinical skills, particularly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy. I value lifelong learning and strive to incorporate evidence-based approaches into my practice to provide effective, compassionate care to the individuals and families I serve. I am a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Michigan, committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and client-centered care while continuing to grow professionally and strengthen clinical skills.
Professional History
My professional experience includes many years as a Crisis Counselor with Network180, following my work as a Case Manager within the Kent County foster care system. These roles provided meaningful opportunities to support individuals and families through challenging circumstances while developing strong clinical and case-management skills. I have valued the challenges, learning experiences, and professional growth throughout my career, which have strengthened my commitment to serving others and providing compassionate, client-centered care.
